Elevated radon levels have been found throughout Illinois.

The only way your family can know whether you have an elevated radon level is to test

Wall Anchoring System

The traditional way to stop basement walls from deterioration is to jack up the house, excavate around the wall, and actually build a new basement wall. This method is costly, time consuming, and destructive to lawn and shrubs In addition, the problem can recur because the wall is still not stabilized.

BIX Basement Water Control technicians anchor the basement wall by inserting a steel anchor rod horizontally through the wall into the outside earth. A steel earth anchor is then attached through a vertical hole in the ground. A steel Bearing plate secures the rod to the inside basement wall. The soil is then replaced in the hole with the sod replaced on top and the installation is complete.

Once the anchors are installed, Mother Nature takes over. The hydrostatic pressure once exerted solely on the wall is now neutralized. During dry weather the earth shrinks and pulls away from the outside wall. The anchor rod nut inside the basement is tightened to pull the wall back into vertical alignment to maintain the stability of the wall.

Wall Bulging in Towards Basement? THE SOLUTION

About the Grip-Tite Wall Anchor System

The Cost-Effective Way To Stop Wall Deterioration
The GRIP-TITE® Wall Anchor System utilizes proven engineering methods to secure and stabilize deteriorating basement walls. What's more, the system works on any kind of basement wall concrete block, poured concrete or tile.

Until now, home owners had few choices for repairing foundation walls. To rebuild a wall, workers jack up the house, excavate around the wall and build a new basement wall. This solution is expensive, time consuming, and destructive to landscaping. Not only that, the problem can recur if the wall is not properly rebuilt or if steps are not taken to correct the causes of the initial deterioration.

The GRIP-TITE® Wall Anchor System, however, is a cost-effective alternative to rebuilding a foundation wall. Simple and effective, the patented system secures and stabilizes cracking, bowed, or buckling foundation walls.

Proven Engineering Methods Work
The GRIP-TITE® Wall Anchor System uses anchoring plates and rods to stabilize the wall and counteract the hydrostatic pressure being exerted against the wall. By counteracting this pressure, the causes contributing to the deterioration are lessened.

To install a GRIP-TITE® Wall Anchor System, technicians insert a steel anchor rod through the wall into the outside earth. A steel anchor is then attached to the rod through a vertical hole in the ground. Finally, a steel wall plate secures the rod to the inside basement wall and installation is complete.

Safe For Your Home And Lawn (return to top)
Installing the GRIP-TITE® Wall Anchor System usually takes less than one day, and the technicians will leave your home and lawn as it was before installation. Anchors can be placed in various locations along the wall, and rod extenders can be added to avoid all decking, cement work, flower beds, and other landscaping. And because the system works with the wall and ground, structural changes to your house are unnecessary.

Save Your Home, Protect Your Valuables (return to top)
A home is usually the biggest investment a person or family makes — not to mention the value of the possessions contained within it. A cave-in can cause irreparable damage to the house and contents making it important to secure, stabilize, and correct deteriorating basement walls — before it's too late.

Foundation cracks and bulges develop for a number of reasons. At best, they are due to settling and may simply be unsightly. At worst, they are early signals of much larger problems and can precede a collapsed wall and sunken house. That's why it's important to have a professional examine the wall and determine what steps, if any, need to be taken.
